Hello! I'm Rabbi Melissa Starr Wenig and spend most of the year in Sarasota FLA and the summers in New England.  I teach Torah as a spiritual path, invite people into the joy of hebrew letters and learning,  and love the ritual work of creating weddings, baby-namings, bar/bat mitzvah and other life-cycle events.

I have been spotted in Boston, the Berkshires, the White Mountains, Sarasota, FLA, and as far away as Mexico, Costa Rica, Vieques and St. John, V.I.  I am truly a "roving rabbi" and I serve whoever needs me.  Most of the times I gather my couples, students, or individuals around my dining room table but SKYPE has become a medium for connection when in-person contact is not possible.

A teacher for many years, I  put my love of teaching together with my passion for Judaism and was ordained as a rabbi by the ALEPH Rabbinic Seminary, a trans-denominational program. After rabbinical school, I was the interim rabbi in Newburyport, MA (a Conservative synagogue)  as well as a regular prayer leader in my own Jewish renewal community B’nai Or of Boston.

I love to travel and with my husband Joel have led trips to the Virgin Islands, Vieques, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica and Israel both privately and for the Appalachian Mt. Club.

I look forward to talking with you about your needs for learning or a life-cycle journey.  My goal is to connect you with the essence of and the joy in the experience you are seeking. Together, we become co-creators in a process that is unique, spiritual and meaningful. This is my joyful service.

I invite you to call me at 617-821-1104 or email me at rabbimelissa@me.com
