Baby Namings

"Melissa, thank you so much for the lovely ceremony. The family is still talking about how wonderful it was! Really touching and memorable. I'm so glad we decided to do this." Andrea and Scott K

Dear Rabbi Melissa,
We LOVED the baby naming. Many of our family and friends commented about the inclusiveness of the ceremony. There was a role for relatives and friends; even those people who were more comfortable sitting back and watching were included in the singing and individual blessings. The part where everyone offered a blessing and Hazel was passed around the room was one of our favorites-- not only were we impressed that she made it almost all the way around in good spirits, but it was so sweet that each of her guests got to squeeze her and offer their own hopes for her, either in her ear or to the group.

The singing was also a big hit! We loved how you included some Hebrew favorites interspersed with classic kids songs that everyone knew. Even the toddlers who were there could feel like they were a part of the service.

Personally, I was especially touched by your gift to Hazel. You were thoughtful about our hopes to educate Hazel in the Jewish tradition as we help her understand other cultures and faiths. I was also thankful for your guidance as we chose her name and your support in helping us find a name that is meaningful to us and our families. I also love my hamsa and appreciate your efforts to include me as Hazel's mom.

THANK YOU for all your care and the countless personal touches. We look forward to sharing the keepsake book we made for Hazel and recounting the day for her in years to come.

Best,

Leslie & Zach
